FilmGuard does what it was designed to do and it does it very well. However if even at a very tight gate tension the film cannot hold perfectly steady then there are still problems (not with FilmGuard but with the film stock.) Then there is the problem of not being able to print the films steady in the first place. I have several rolls of polyestar RP40 (color stock to boot) that run nearly 100% steady. But of course the films are printed badly so what difference does it make? Maybe the industry will wake up and make some improvements. Not just Kodak with the improvements that they are trying to make, but everybody.
