I think you owe Ky and Coke a credit for the "Classic" Bit.

"Travel-Ghosts" That's a good one, Rick.

Brad, if you want to mess with the site, do small things. Like changing the Film-Tech logo. You could do it in script. You could make it red. You could be sued by coke and let the case drag on for years, getting free publicity for Film-Guard.

Brad,

I know what you were doing. Since this is a forum for projectionists, you were trying to emulate the appearance of a movie screen. The problem is reverses (white text on black) only work for a few words of normal sized text or headlines. Thanks for changing back, it reflects your general philosophy of service to us all.

Nope, actually I had a few minutes to spare and thought I'd try to make the forum look a little less bland. Unfortunately there's no way to view a "preview" screen, and if I am working on something, lurkers will get some awful interesting color combinations until all of the threads have been updated.

It's not the technology of the booth but the story that sells tickets. (Although I will go to the theatre with the best presentation.)

I hate to post "I agree" here, but I will. Ian is right; the design and layout of Film-Tech is just about ideal. It is simple enough to load quickly and good enough to look attractive in all browsers. I use Lynx regularly (it's text-based and is much faster than Netscape, even on a high-speed cablemodem connection) and appreciate that everything works and is usable without being overloaded with graphics and imagemaps and all that other junk.

As always, though, content is the most important thing, but we already know how good the content here is or we wouldn't visit this site regularly...

You just couldn't resist, could you, Brad? You had to go and change Film-Tech again after the howls of protest from the masses. Well, I don't mind this one too much. Just resist the more colorful changes.

Brad, the new format (now) is a great improvement. Took me ten minutes to figure out why it looked "cleaner" (no more grey areas) - did you use "Film-Guard" on it?

P.S. Aaron: It wasn't the monitor after all. I took out a small bank loan and changed all the 12AU7A tubes in my computer. It worked!
