My old theater was a 20 plex with 2 booths. In each booth I installed a tool shadow-board, and advised our G-M about which tools to buy. As an F.A.A. Aircraft Mechanic, and a Machinist, I can definately attest to quality tools making a difference! Craftsman tools will suffice. Socket set, combination wrenches, T-handle Allen Wrenches, multi-meter, rubber mallet, Pana-Vice, assorted jewlers pliers, screwdriver set, jewlers files, jewlers screwdrivers, inspection mirror, telescoping magnet, speciality tools recommended by equipment manufacturer, light meter, silent oilless air compressor,bubble level, platter timer, shop-vacume cleaner, proper safety gear for changing Xenon Bulbs, grease gun for Xenon exhaust fan bearings, and I am probably forgetting some stuff!Each projector was stocked with a dry erase board containing all necessary film info. each screen also had small trash can, lens cleaner/tissue, paper towels and flashlights. Each Projectionist was also issued a Mini-MagLight. We also used multi-channeled radios for communication, and also had a phone in each booth. Dont forget Proper fire safety gear and First-Aide kits, and make sure you are in full compliance if running Nitrate Film! Spare projector parts and servicing equipment. Technical Publications. There are also som nice Projectinist Trouble-shooting Charts that are offered by equipment manufacturers that can be hung up in the booth. Ask John P.! Each of our screens also had a film interuption log and projector problem log, and we also had a shift turn-over/log book. We also had a dry erase calander to note special screenings, film-opening dates, etc. Not to mention a lot of the other serious supplies mentioned in this post.
