Better views of the darker pics here The place WAS pretty nice on the inside during the 70's and 80's (the exterior was a lovely -brown color until the exterior got redone in 1988.) I don't purchase the Olympian newspaper because it's as bad of a newspaper as the Capital Mall is a theater. The Capital Mall Cinemas was a dump from the day it opened. It still has mono sound in 2 houses. Still has it's original 1978 American Seats and vintage 1978 ORC consoles. Surprisingly, the ORC consoles run perfectly and are plenty bright on-screen. The roof leaks and if you look at the entire mall, there's moss and mold growing everywhere. We already have a total of 13 screens in this town and we don't need anymore theaters. The Carmike locations in operation are: Thoroughbred 20 Hickory 8 Bell Forge 10 (Martin 6-plex originaly) Wynnsong 10 Rivergate 8 (Martin 6-plex originally) Bellevue 8 (Martin 4-plex originally) Is it one of these you are referring to? If so, which one? Or did I miss one?  |  IP: Logged Don Sneed Master Film Handler Posts: 451 From: Texas City, TX, USA Registered: Aug 2001 posted 07-10-2003 06:44 PM                        Hey Steven.....yea buddy I remember the Southmore booth when your Dad was in charge of it, I never had problems when I serviced it...if your dad call for service, then there was a problem...the booth went way way down after your dad left...if you both would see it now, you would cry !!! I think the last few years of life at the Southmore theatre & the Epson Drive In Houston (NOW CLOSED) was the two worst projection rooms & theatre I ever been to in my 33 yrs in the business !!!
