Author Topic: Senator to run 70mm This Weekend Jeff Stricker Master Film Handler Posts: 481 From: Calumet, Mi USA Registered: Nov 1999 posted 07-12-2000 03:19 PM                     I watched Spartacus for the first time about a week ago on cable TV - letterboxed, of course. Hard to believe, I'm 50+ years old and never saw the film! It's a great movie (I think I had the preconcieved notion it was some biblical epic)- It's got to look great on the big screen, you won't be dissapointed.  |  IP: Logged John Wilson Film God Posts: 5438 From: Sydney, Australia. Registered: Dec 1999 posted 07-14-2000 04:25 AM                     We ran the 70mm reissue of Spartacus in about 1991 (I think that's when it was). The print was brand new and the image was incredible! The sound was great but there were big differences between the original dialogue tracks and the 'new' dialogue that had to be added when they lost the original soundtracks. I would have thought it would be pretty easy to copy the EQ of the original but...it was not to be.  |  IP: Logged
