Gosh, there is so much to reply to

Mark, I know you don't have any problem with where we get our parts. Didn't you see the big grin in my post? By the way, in case anyone is wondering, I don't in MY almost 18 years remember using Radio Shack parts in our equipment, although who knows what might have happened when I wasn't looking! But seriously folks, we do buy our parts through reputable parts distribution channels and we try to use high quality parts throughout our product line.

Now, if you want to discuss the designs, well, that you can take up with me, but be prepared to fight Before you get ready to put on the gloves, let me the first to admit that I have made my share of mistakes, so you may take me down with one easy punch.

I don't recall if we still have the Reticon time delay chips available anymore, but I will look. If not, maybe Radio Shack has some in their back room. (Just kidding you, Mark) Actually, the part is obsolete, but I may still have some. I don't even remember the SG1130 using the Reticon. I thought it used only the Panasonic delay chips, but I will check into it.

The modules are no problem. I believe we still have some of those or can make some if needed.

Aaron, I apologize if you could not get the information you needed on the music dist. system. We have made 2 models, the DA-8 and the DA-226. I have been at SMART for almost 18 years, and so I have a great deal of history taking up space in my brain. Other employees, especially people in the service department who usually handle service calls, unfortunately don't always have the same level of information that I do because they just haven't been there as long. So, I imagine that someone just didn't recognize the particular product about which you were calling. As much as I dislike this, it does happen.

Also, SMART has produced a bewildering array of products over the years, and I must tell you that I have trouble sometimes remembering the details about the variation on the variations on top of other variations. It does get confusing at times.

In our defense, you would be amazed at the sheer number of phone calls we get asking about products that are CLEARLY not ours, and then the caller will actually argue with us!! Maybe since we have a 800 number, people just call us first regardless.

I am glad you got to talk to Meghan. She will try her very best to get you what you need, and her accent is great isn't it? But then we are a JawJuh company, so you should expect that (except from the Yankees we have working here.)

Brad, do you actually re-key all the text and copy the pictures in the manuals you post? If so, that is one tremendous amount
of work?

Mauals for the site are run through a twain scanner, which converts directly into pdf and formats the pages and such. That's the easy part. The hard part is trying to make a manual out of anything other than "single sided photocopies".

Oh yeah...and no stapling of the pages! That causes major problems.
