The PTRs won't tell you the reel number, but they will tell the location across the width of the film, and whether it is emulsion-side or back-side. The dirt captured on a PTR is much easier to analyze, since it is not trapped in the woven fibers of the web media. Using HPLC, we can sometimes even tell what brand of film the dirt came from.------------------
