We have SPECO platters with the fail-safe rollers as well. I use rubber bands to keep tension on the rollers-not the best solution. I am going to look into the spring idea, it sounds a lot better than mine.

On another note, I wired the micro switch on the fail-safe payout bracket to the projector motor run circuit, as well as the take-up elevator micro-switch. The switches are wired so that either one will stop the projector motor. Each one will light an individual alarm light on the motor control panel so that the operator can see what caused the stoppage- take-up or pay-out.
