From an "audiophile" perspective, what Brad says makes total sense. Whatever good things might be said about digital EQ, preserving the integrity of the original source signal material (especially music) cannot possibly occur once you start mucking around with it in the digital domain. It's all downhill once you add all that nonsense in the signal path.
