Never run any connector, circuit breaker, outlet or plug at over 80% of its maximum rating or you will more than likely experience premature failure. There are similar Mil-type or Veam connectors that can handle higher D.C. loads with pins almost the size of your small finger for each pole. I, too, have seen these disconnects in use at a multiplex, using 3kW xenon but I want them for 2kW use. Just order them through Newark or Allied Electronics. Thay are ALOT less expensive. I think Strong charges pretty exhorbatent prices for them.....
