Big caps to "recreate" 3 phase and fool the motor into working.  |  IP: Logged Paul G. In the good old days, there was not much of a choice when the only power available was single phase. As you know since then, 3 phase closed delta came around (which still works well on 3 phase motors), and also as you know, the wild leg was worthless in 120 volt applications. Three phase open delta is standard now, but there is still lots of the closed delta stuff still running around. I have two theaters that still use that wild leg crap. It can be a major pain in the rear end.  |  IP: Logged Jon Bartow Master Film Handler Posts: 287 From: Massachusetts Registered: Nov 1999 posted 12-29-2000 11:50 AM                     Joe, you probably could not get the heat up any higher than 68 because the air conditioning was set to 70. you have to move the AC up first. Also, check the drive wheels on the AW5 (I assume it's between 2 and 3?) The platter was used when it was installed three years ago. The drive wheels should be about 1 1/2 inches across. If they are worn, then the motor can't turn the platter as fast. How are things up in Maine?
