Also for what it is worth UltraStereo uses a seperate preamp for mono so if all else fails check the mono output.

Problem solved. Our technician came out and found that the solar cell was misaligned. He said that most of them when misaligned are pushed down too far, but ours was up too high. Very odd. So he tweaked that and all was well. As for the beeping, it stopped and hasn't been an issue. He said he most likely had something to do with that.

Thanks everyone for your help. It wasn't in vain because I got a crash course in some sound problems! Thanks!
