As far as the leaking from the oil sight glass I have not seen this on our machines. Someone mentioned a fix on this post somewhere and I have read it in another post somewhere in this forum. One word of advice. If you clean your projector heads by spraying alcohol into the head you may want to avoid this. It will cause rubber to shrink and the exposed rubber seal arounf=d these sight glasses will shrink to the point that oil will start leaking. Avoid using alcohol to clean the rubber preasure roller in the sound gate on the simplex sound head. It will cause the rubber to shrink and dry out causing cracks to form. They are a bitch to change. All thirteen of my 1060's leak from the sight glass but my one E-7 doesnt leak a drop. The sound head does though. But hey they are soooo much better than the gp-35's that I used to work with I can deal with a wipe down after each show. and anyway it makes sure that my booth staff actually keeps up on the maintence... This really is a "full-featured" web site.....! I generally feel that projectors made in the last 10 years or so should not leak. At all. Machine tolerances are so much better today. After all, cars hardly leak (yes, I know some do... like mine!) but look at all the dymanics a car engine goes through. A projector lives an easy life compared to a car, so why do projectors leak? Am I missing something or being unreasonable?
