Steve, if you're footloose and fancy free, accept Mike's offer and take the position in Michigan.

In my view you did the right thing to quit the booth from hell. As others have said, it was a no-win situation and you don't want something which was hopeless clogging up your resume. Nothing good can come of it. The exhibition industry in the USA is very sick right now... and given the bankruptcies pending in court and other major problems [indicated by such phenomena as ordering 3 rolls of splicing tape, but receiving only one] there's going to some major fallout in the next 1-3 years or sooner. "Booths from hell" will be dragged under along with these sinking ships.

All the best of luck to you, and I hope things works out and you can stay in the industry you enjoy with a good exhibitor that appreciates your talent. There is nothing better in this world than "work" which one enjoys. That's how it was with me.
