Who manufactures the reels? Do the problem reels have the name of the manufacturer on them? Perhaps helping the manufacturer understand the issues would help them correct the design flaws, or use different materials (e.g., a less brittle plastic).

(Note, the cores/hubs are probably not from the same manufacturer as the reel flanges.)

Hi Rachel;

I've seen them, of course, don't like them that much, especially when they fly apart and break easily. We make things and I'd like to see if we can make a good alternative to what's in the market now.

Now I just need to get my hands on a couple to see how they break.
