Author Topic: Custom DTS trailer discs Mike Blakesley Film God Posts: 12767 From: Forsyth, Montana Registered: Jun 99 posted 07-02-2002 05:10 PM                        The Gone With the Wind reissue actually had 3 disks, with instructions to swap disk B out and replace it with disk C, so the second half of the movie ran on disks A and C. If we put discs A-B-C in their corresponding drives, it would read drive A, then B, but not go to C. So I had an idea. Put disc A in drive C (trailer disc drive) disc B in drive A and disc C in drive B -- Whaddaya know, it worked! =TMP=  |  IP: Logged Frank Angel Film God Posts: 5305 From: Brooklyn NY USA Registered: Dec 1999 posted 07-03-2002 02:51 AM                        Just skip reel 14 -- that's simple enuf. As for long films, the thing is, you won't usually get 23 min of film on a reel when you are talking about these epics and musicals. MY FAIR LADY, for example, was cut with some pretty short reels, necessitated to avoid making change-overs in the middle of a song. So, yes, there are 12 reels, but the film runs under three hours. And of course there IS and intermission, which invariably gets cut in so many of the gristmill, classless operations that abound out there.  |  IP: Logged
