Gerard, that's a great way to get around expensive exciter supplies. [Wink]

Any filtered DC supply with proper voltage and current ratings will do the job. I have pressed into servce your basic cheapo Radio Shack CB power supplies with great results. (Depending voltage needed, you may have to tinker with the internal regulator circuitry)

BTW: Some automotive 12V stop/tail lamps (the ones with straight filaments) make good inexpensive exciter lamps, if your willling to make a home brew lamp holder for your soundhead.
