That notch can be used as a indication that the plate in not upside down, and one notch would be for house No. 1, two notches for house No. 2, etc. Of course, if you have a "gigaplex", just simply scribe the house number on the aperture. Some projectors such as Century and their knock-off's, Ballentyne, old Simplex Supers, Simplex E-7's and Brenkerts have apertures that are very nice to do this with. It is also a newer theatre. It is just under five years old, so I think it very well could be the building or masking 'settling'. It's in Fond du Lac, WI. Anyone here familiar with it?
