Michael Atkinson Film Handler Posts: 14 From: Gainesville, FL, USA Registered: Sep 2002 posted 03-20-2003 03:45 PM                     Well contrary to what the letter says, for our 3 prints of Dreamcatcher: Reel 1A had the attached trailer (“Malibu’s Most Wanted”), then the Matrix Short (“Animatrix: The Final Flight of the Osiris”). As Michael said, our print had Malibu on 1A with the Matrix and the feature starting on 1B. One word of note, we had some major DTS dropouts throughout the film. It kept dropping out on reels 1, 3, 4,5, and 6. I checked the discs and they were perfect. Must be timecode. Hopefully it works better when we run it in SRD. Cheers! We also had a problem with the exposure, it went dark for a few minutes then it was off color at least through half of reel 1B  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. Get yourself a replacement reel. Not only will it look better for your customers, but the next person that runs it in analog will thank you since the soundtrack invariably gets fogged which causes a very low audio level (with zip for dynamic range).  |  IP: Logged Mark J. Guess someone at WB agrees with me, and someone else doesn't! Our reel 1A had multiple light base scratches running down the entire reel. And it was coded with the new "cap like" code about six times. Nice smooth animation, then BANG! Big orange dots on the screen! How irritating.  |  IP: Logged Jonathan M. Crist Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 531 From: Hershey, PA, USA Registered: Apr 2000 posted 03-21-2003 09:08 AM                     The new Warner Brothers master licensing agreement that I just signed(and which I understand is being required of all theatres) explicitly says that all attached material (including trailers, featurettes and other material) must be exhibited in full at each screening of the licensed picture (unless Warners gives permission otherwise). Not to put down your CAP code, John. Sorry about that. But these dots are not the HUGE dots I've seen recently on some films, the dots are much smaller, and are actually on screen for three frames, not one. We did order the replacement reel, and it also has the code.
