Knowing if the buzz is there is bypass mode should identify the problem board. If there's no buzz in bypass mode it's the D741 DSP board (middle board). If there is a buzz in bypass mode it's the D744 Analog Board (top board). The processor can be put in bypass mode by flipping the bypass switch located on the D744 Analog board (top board) to the right. There's a bypass indicator LED to the right of the switch and on the front panel. Make sure that the bypass level isn't cranked... the bypass level control is the larger knob between the 2 booth monitor trims and the 6 main output trims that are directly to the left of the bypass switch.  |  IP: Logged Paul G. Thompson The Weenie Man Posts: 4718 From: Mount Vernon WA USA Registered: Nov 2000 posted 09-11-2003 06:50 PM                     In a way....Today, I replaced the DSP board and ran the test disk. everything was fine....for about 30 minutes. Then it came back. I threw the by-pass switch.....noise was still there. DTS did send me an upgraded D744 audio board as well. I was going to install it today, but I ran out of time. Probably will do that tomorrow or Saturday. In the meantime, I reduced the gain setting on the left and right power amps for now so the noise is not so obnoxious. One has to really listen to determine it is still there. But naturally, the L and R channels are running a little soft now.  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. Karen mentioned a few changes when I spoke to her over the phone, but in all honesty, I can't remember what they were.
