Glass bowl to see it's running; fan to actually cool the water; the pump motor is seperate, so there's no oil to leak out.... We have several Simplex PR1060's running at 3K (Neumade consoles) that came with water coolers, but as the pumps in them died, we found you could hardly tell the difference. So, I don't think I will repair/replace those as they die. Hi, Richard; Several people probably threw out their water coolers when they got rid of carbon lamps, then later wished they had kept them. All it really does is to cool the aperature plate itself... the third thing you missed is that then it is also a pain in the ass to remove the trap since you have to unscrew 2 small allen screws holding the water jacket to the back of the trap every time you need to pull it. Not too bad on a Simplex without an aperature changer but rediclous on one with an aperature changer. You will find that water cooled traps don't get cleaned very frequently or at all by booth personel, only by the servicing personel. Mark  |  IP: Logged
