USA (1774.21 miles northeast of Dallas) Registered: Jun 99 posted 01-12-2013 05:02 PM                        A regular manually adjustable camera with a macro lens and light box will work. I have done this before with a Logan Electric A-7A thin light box and it works fine. I used a copy stand and a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 macro lens. For this purpose, you do not need an extention tube or close-up diopter if you have a macro lens. The light box takes a few minutes to get to full brightness. I will dig up the exposure settings (to be edited later). I was shooting Ektachrome, but for this purpose you would probably want a digital camera. If you want a scanner, the Epson V500 or V700 will work well, but will probably take longer to use than the camera-with-light-box setup. But...where is the reel-ID page now? edit: with the aforementioned lens and light box, and with 100 ASA film, I was shooting at f/4 or f/5.6 and 1/30th for best results on backlit strips of 35mm motion-picture film [ 01-12-2013, 11:36 PM: Message edited by: Scott Norwood ]  |  IP: Logged Manny Knowles "What are these things and WHY are they BLUE???"
