Author Topic: Rolling loop VistaVision? Paul Trimboli Master Film Handler Posts: 274 From: Perth Western Australia Registered: Dec 2002 posted 01-05-2006 04:54 AM                     I can certainly see that it is normal 4 perf 35mm, thanks for clearing that up. I am going to build a rolling loop movement as a display to show how the system works, but that has got me thinking if it would be possible to build a movement and go the rest of the way to building it into a projector. Any thoughts on that? I sent it to you hotmail account, maybe not an account you check very often?? Send me an email if you can. 15/70 might be a bit of over kill! Would the bands (not sure if they have a more technical name) on the rotor be able to be made on a CNC machine, as well as the stator? The rotor segments(bands as you call them) would have to be cnc'd as well and then hard chrome plated, polishhed and individually aligned on the rotor..... assuming you'd want to put any one you built into service..... I would not favor an 8 perf loop since I already havae an an 8 perf projector, perhaps an 8 perf 70mm would be a good compromise..... The prototype is located in Brisbane Australia.
