Hi Wolff!

Its great to see a "newby" care about his craft!

I have one suggestion for you, though!

Play it cool at your theatre. Do not go overboard for the company w/o getting compensated for it! Take it from someone who knows! Your fellow "projectionists" might take your zealousness as a threat!

I went to work for a major chain and brought several years of professional mechanical background experience with me. I jumped into the job head first and went all out for my employeer! And how did they say "thank-you".....

Truth is they are more concerned with concession sales than with ticket sales. UA was the worst when it came to that. Their attitude was people are paying money to buy popcorn not see a movie. They didn't care if a show was lost, give em a free pass and they'll come back for more popcorn.
And we all know what happened to UA

Don't forget folks,

President Bush wants to eliminate overtime for "managers." So if you think things are bad now they're gonna get worse.

Joe i don't think it's taking overtime away from managers it's classifying more people as managers who then wouldn't be elagble for over time.

I thought once one was a manager they were exempt from overtime? I.E. which is why the higher pay.
