Author Topic: A "TEN COMMANDMENTS" question Christian Appelt Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 505 From: Frankfurt, Germany Registered: Dec 2001 posted 03-13-2004 01:58 PM                     Last year i saw an old (1960s?) 70mm print which also was enlarged to 2.2:1, quite disappointing compared to old 35mm IB prints. If they convert VistaVision films to 70mm, it should not exceed 1.85:1 very much. The additional enlargement makes the grain and matte lines of the optical work on TEN COMMANDMENTS look worse than in the 35mm versions, even when shown on the same size screen.  |  IP: Logged Mark Gulbrandsen Resident Trollmaster Posts: 16657 From: Music City Registered: Jun 99 posted 03-13-2004 03:06 PM                     I have about 1000' of original dalies from the Ten Commandments in 8 perf VistaVision...although somewhat faded its still very runnable. This are several shots of a gazillion extras doing something......probably either pick up shots or B camera stuff. There is also a hunk of Ten Commandments blown up to Imax up in Gords booth at the Cinesphere. Mark  |  IP: Logged
