I think MiT's 'press release' is not overly hyped or anything; I've seen far, far worse. Besides, I can't remember any projection equipment company acknowledging user comments (here at Film-Tech) to make a quality product. It's good to still see people in the equipment business, especially with the economy being poor. (I've never worked with them myself, and I don't really want to having read the comments posted about them by others.) Anyway, good luck to the MiT folks. Competition in equipment is good, and the exhibitor will be the "winner" regardless, with lower prices and better equipment to choose from when outfitting or upgrading a theatre.  |  IP: Logged Mark Gulbrandsen Resident Trollmaster Posts: 16657 From: Music City Registered: Jun 99 posted 03-22-2004 11:42 PM                     Scott, I was waiting for someone to catch that I mentioned "beltless" as well as the fact of my questioning of who made the lamps..... Of course I saw that Superior was mentioned in the press release 5 or 6 times.... Personally, I don't like buying a bunch of re-labeled things from a second party... Where do you go if there are problems with that second party stuff.... you call them and they call them and so on. With lamps or projectors buying from a second party will sometimes slow down the whole process of warranty claims/repairs..... You send the lamp back, bad movement, etc. back to the distributer....they send it back to the manufacturer and then you wait for that two part thing to happen on the way back to fix your problem. Makes better sense to buy the equipmnt direct from the manufacturer in the first place. Thee are a couple of situations this may help though... if a chain is buying dorect from the maufacturer, or if they are exporting. Mark  |  IP: Logged
