I agree with Gordon that keeping the film clean, and avoiding any cinching from loose rolls or uneven acceleration will prevent any "rain" or cinch marks. Before "loop" and bi-directional printing, labs could get many hundreds of prints from a printing negative that was rewound each time it was printed.
