Your soundhead looks like the SH1012 models I use at my drive-in. That's the first time I've seen the pre-amp under the exciter lamp.
I use a SH-1012 at my theatre too. We we got it, it looked alot like the photos above, preamp installed under the exciter. When we took it up to Louisville, KY last summer to have it rebuilt and red reader installed, they removed all of the older preamp parts, brackets, exciters, etc., and put them in a box for me. The area in the soundhead where all of that stuff was is now empty and is a perfect place to hide cigarettes from your wife, appurature plates, the key to the lawnmower, etc.. I actually just threw away those old parts a month or two ago. My motor cover doesn't have that bracket in the first picture.

Here are some pics so you can see what I am dealing with.

 -

This is a pic of the bottom of the mag penthouse. Notice that there seems to be a bracket missing from where the film exits the casting.

 -

This is a pic of the projector the way it sits now. I just want to add the penthouse underneath the upper magazine.

 -

Here is the top of the projector with the magazine removed.

 -

Here is the pic of the current plate that is installed on the top of the projector.

 -

As you can see it does not fit onto the top of the penthouse correctly. So I need the plate that goes on the bottom of the penthouse between the penthouse and the picture head. And I also need the plates that go onto the top of the penthouses so that I can still mount my upper magazines. I will need two of each of these. Anyone have some they can sell me? Thanks.

Remove the fire valve assembley (3 screws usually 2 at the back one at the front inside)
remove the plate attached to the top of the projector
put the penthouse on top and attach with 4 screw that will go down through the 4 holes in the bottom of the penthouse that held the plate on

Gordon,

Thanks. The penthouse has a recess molded into the casting to go around the fire shutter button. My concern is how do I mount the plate on top of the penthouse (that has the bolt holes in it for the upper magazine to attach to)? The penthouse is not drilled and tapped for this purpose. Look back at page one of this thread and notice how Dan's plate on top of his penthouse is machined differently. Someone somewhere must have a set of these laying around.

Tony can I get you to send me a copy of that manual please? Thanks.

I decided to let go of this sound system. I figure there are many other people out there who would appreciate it more than me. I know a lot of people wanted me to part it out. Sorry but I figure it is worth more if kept together. Plus there were too many people who wanted it. I figure you can fight it out on ebay. I listed it on there tonight. My ebay username is joshjens. Thanks.
