Author Topic: Christie AW-3 Drive Roller Warning Dominic Espinosa Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1172 From: California, U.S.A. Registered: Jan 2004 posted 08-03-2004 12:39 PM                     I got slimed by some of those damned drive rollers. More than I remember have been changed because of flat spots that developed over a period of use. Less than 160 hours in most cases and in the same house I had two on the same deck that turned to slime on the bottom of the disc. Probably even on brand new AW-3's that are getting installed in the very near future. We intend to remove the white Christie rollers and return em for credit if they are really bad. Its funny because Christie had the roller thing down pat back in the 80's but chenged to another and presumably el-cheapo rubber compound. They used to last just fine. They are dark brown in color, and you can tell by the feel they are a totally different material than the white ones. Probablly natural rubber. I'm just glad to know there are other companies out there who still make rollers like that.  |  IP: Logged
