Maybe you are thinking of the older cores?  |  IP: Logged Carl Martin Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1424 From: Oakland, CA, USA Registered: Feb 2002 posted 09-21-2004 04:47 AM                        so why do most trailers come on 1" cores? everybody hates them. half the time they're out of round, and older trailers are bound to be "sprung". i sometimes see "fall-apart" reels that have simply been forced onto incompatible cores. even when i force them apart, there's no way to reassemble them so there's a hole through for the mut dog. heck, some new reels are designed not to accomodate the dog at all. what's with that? has anyone else gotten out a knife and carved a hole in a reel? carl  |  IP: Logged
