I've had a design for a completely automated 35mm system for several years. No platter, no continuous loop, no threading, self-framing. Trailers, and even the entire bill, can be changed easily. The quick description is it's a cross between a slot-load 16mm projector and a 2" quadraplex VTR.

Did you need a forklift to get the 'cassettes' loaded into this thing? [Smile]
