quote: Manny Knowles A wrong answer on that one would not prove/disprove his/her suitability for the job
When one drafts up a booth test, one could have the test with sections within levels that aren't mandatory for booth requirements: one for required learning to gain level certifications, and the other for knowledge that isn't required for certifications, yet for helpful info on areas that can help the candidate to achieve technical status if desired.
In this small company that I work for, I have an actual booth certification programs that have 4 levels within. One-for basic booth knowledge and requirements. Two-Required for make and break films. Three-Machine maintenance-both preventive and routine. And the last, Four-which is an optional level..is the knowledge of xenon bulb handling.
Within these levels are these kind of helpful questions that doesn't mean if one fails any of these certain questions that they miss this level of certification, but just helpful areas of understanding and to gain knowledge.
Even though I certify candidates in these levels with individual test papers, which earns them the incentive raises that they deserve, I do leave a copy of these tests for candidates to read and study at all of the theatres that I visit.
