Two things...if you have a question regarding the rules...you should direct them to the moderators for an explanation. Second, linking to pictures off-site is also against the rules (as the links you provided will eventually go away and thus your post will make make no sense without the pictures. I'm sorry. I thought I was in the right place asking the right questions. In other forums I've had others complain about not updating previous posts instead of starting new ones. With so many forums with different rules, it's difficult to keep track of who wants what where. I've cleaned the residue from interior surfaces of the lenses. However, there are still too many scratches on the outside surfaces. I'm not sure yet if or how I may be able to use this lens in such a way that the imperfections are able to be productive in the images created with it. I'm still considering my alternatives. I think I remember there being a fluid that could be applied to reduce the appearance of scratches. But I don't remember what the product was. It would be better than having to deal with scratches which couldn't otherwise be removed. One thing that I've thought of is adding a wide-angle converter to the front of the lens, which would reduce the size of the scratches relative to the image. Another thing that I would like to know is whether or not the two separate groups (front and rear) can be remounted (maybe in a newly modified body) to allow them to be repositioned closer together in relationship to each other? I'm wondering how much of a wider angle-of-view can be obtained by doing that? I'm pretty certain that the closer the groups are to each other, the less vignetting would be encountered in the final result. If anyone here has specific knowledge about this, I would like to hear what you have to offer. I haven't yet received it. But I would like to know a few things beforehand. 1.) What is the exact size of the thread on these lenses? I need to know the pitch as well. 2.) What are some of the projector lenses this would work with? I would like to see if I can find any on eBay. 3.) Can I get a filter adapter that will allow me to attach another lens behind or in front of it? Like a 77mm to ?? step-up adapter. 4.) Are the groups inside this lens the same diameter? The Kollmorgen seemed to have the same size for both front and rear groups, leading me to think they can be remounted in a much shorter barrel. 5.) Is it possible to remount both the front and rear groups in another barrel, so as to minimize the distance between them? I think that would eliminate having to have the anamorphic "focused" to match the working lens. As far as the front of the lens goes, I can always use a clamp-on filter mount. But the back of the lens is my immediate concern right now. I'm wondering if the lens truly is 4", does Tiffen or others make an adapter to accept 4" series filters in the front of other lenses? Due to the weight of this lens, I already know that I will have to mount it to my tripod, and let everything that is lighter than it hang off this lens. In the case that other components as nearly as heavy as the anamorphic, I will simply have to brace them as well. But the best case scenario for me would be to remount the groups into a much shorter and therefore lighter more manageable barrel with 105mm threads on front and back. Because 105mm filter thread is relatively common. What I want is something that functions like the Schneider Cine-Digitar lenses. Schneider in fact makes several anamorphic lens that can easily be used as photographic accessories. But their compression ration is mostly limited to 1.33:1. Having the groups of the Bausch remounted will give me a 2X compression, with a much wider angle-of-view and likely no vignetting with shorter focal length lenses. Being able to shoot with a wide-angle lens through the Bausch is what I most want to do. So please step and give some feedback here. Thanks, Xavian-Anderson Macpherson ShingoshiDao  |  IP: Logged
