Lauderdale, FL, USA Registered: Jun 2001 posted 03-04-2006 05:41 PM                     Dick Kneisley was a former Strong employee. He used to winter in Florida. He did a personal service call during one of my installs, found a factory defect problem, replaced it overnight and send a technician to follow up....much more than I expected Betty is only testy if you are wasting her time....she has bent over backwards doing some custom work for us which we appreaciated. They were forwarding most of their calls to a tech from some circuit for a while but I think that has long ended. We've ordered about 7 lamp houses a year ago and many parts since. The lead time is getting longer because they are not stocking as much. My only complaint is that the new reflectors are not being punched correctly so the alignment plug does not fit. My bet is kneisley will out last film. WW-2 that is. I found this a while back.... In the late 1940s this company made small planers and bandsaws. The planers were sold by Montgomery Ward. The products variously used the K-Line and Foster Line names. The K-Line products are related in some way to Kneisley Electric Co. and Astro Wood Planer Co., Inc.. Those two firms also used the Yager name. In 1949, Edward Yager of Toledo, Ohio, received a design patent for a planer that matches the known Yager and K-Line designs from the various companies. Information Sources A 10" K-Line planer with this maker name is reported. I came directly back to Cleveland to relax at home. Only in recent years did I come to realize just how old she is. (82, I think) While she is exasperated at times, in general she has always been knowledgeable and helpful. In fact I really don't know anyone else at Kneisley since Bob Freeman retired. (Freeman "invented" the Super Lumex reflector and its offspring.)
