Thanks everyone for ideas. (how many projectionists does it take to change an aperture?)Actually we used the silver solder trick some years ago on the 1:85 side but we thought it was cheating. After 1000s of hours without problems it is good to hear that other projectionists give it the silver seal of approval. The score side is now clean with a sliver of silver.
