Chavez Film God Posts: 2153 From: Martinez, CA USA Registered: Aug 2003 posted 02-07-2016 04:40 PM                       NT audiovisual is closed and Dolby ran out of test film long ago. 1012, is Dolby tone with and SR.D track. Original 69T had no SR.D track but this was added later if memory serves. Steve will be along to correct me if I'm wrong. I have a small quantity but am running out. At some point someone will have to make something resembling the best ones Dolby made. Cat. No. 97, Cat. No 69T and Cat. No. 69P. The original and most accurate Cat. No. 69 was shot on Black and White stock and had both Pink and Tone tracks.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! Posts: 12814 From: Annapolis, MD Registered: Dec 1999 posted 02-07-2016 09:02 PM                     Oh...back in the day...Dolby was always all over the place on their tone/noise...particularly the pink noise. We would measure each new batch as it came in...this is particularly true on the color stock CAT69P. Sam is right that the black and white dual track was more uniform though there were bad batches. Dolby had gone to color stock and separate tracks before SR*D was applied to them. USL distributed their own dual track pink/tone. The USL pink was recorded at the same level as tone (50%). The best was NTAV's stuff. That is what we ended up using for critical stuff. Very uniform from batch to batch. Their RP40 equivalent was the best too.  |  IP: Logged Sam D.
