Louis Computers typically see CD drives as being a fairly different sort of animal than a hard drive, and the software for the 6/6D never knew anything about dealing with a hard drive, so if you connected a hard drive, I doubt it would do anything useful with that hard drive. I also thought the 6D came with a 486 and not a 386. When you turn on these older units without discs, it's like the system is stuck at the end of the POST sequence-waiting for a boot kernel from an external source to begin initalize the system.
