Therefore, the first 40 hours are straight time; the next 8 hours are 1.5x and all other hours are double time. FYI: There are 720 hours in a 30 day month. Imagine the W-2 form on THAT. I'm not sure if its the same way here... We are a right to work state but unions also orevail here in may of the trades. In spite of both states having alot of Coal Mines which is generally why laws like this exist I suspect its not the same as Kentucky since this state is run by a bunch of Cheapskate Mormons. And believe me they're going to get all they can get for free . The wage and hour boys came after me since the company had not paid the state withholding tax on a previous employee. I was asked how many hours I worked per week; how do you define "work." If you are not "free & clear" you are "working" even if at home with the TV on.
