Lauderdale, FL, USA Registered: Jun 2001 posted 03-26-2008 09:57 AM                     Mechanically the intermittent is a 35mm unit with a reducing set internally to drive the 16mm sprocket. Sound was most of the service problems due to the back tension roller / airpot / lens. The Xetron cabinet version had a wimpy induction motor that would "stall" to provide torque...worked O.K. if the attached cooling fan did its job.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! Posts: 12814 From: Annapolis, MD Registered: Dec 1999 posted 03-26-2008 11:14 AM                     I never really care much for the machine...we had more problems with the later incarnation of the sound dampener with the clutched sprocket...that thing trashed many a print. Watch out for the belt in it...make sure it gets changed...all of the units I know are now old enough that the belt has become quite brittle and will break without notice. That bicycle chain may never need replacement, but it seems to me too great the labor and expense, unless the plastic timing-belts become unavailable.
