Louis,

Thats just plain hogwash! When was the last time you got 21,000 hours from a lamp running on an IREM out there??? Never is the correct answer! I only ever see that kind of life running on Christie rectification in Christie SLC consoles. Strong switchers will run rings around ANY iron core unit in efficiency expecially the extremely lossy sliding core "Irem Design". Consider that the switcher will pay for itself alot faster and then it'll also pay for some of your lamps as well!

I wouldn't run a bulb 21,000 hours out of consideration for the customer. Louis

Neither would I but we have several customers that choose to do so. Christie 2kw lamps can easily last that long ... they also remain clear and stable up to the end. Of course there isn't an an OSRAM would last half that long... [Roll Eyes]

Agreed here on IREMs. They are very easy on bulbs.
