(This is what I do with trainees, make them tell me what's wrong or why something is the way it is. Registered: Dec 1999 posted 06-30-2008 07:51 PM                     Well, it was mentioned to me that in another complex operators were forgetting to rewind the media and just going again...meaning the media was running out half way through a show. If you came off the top roll as a 'B' wind and the bottom as an 'A' wind, that would stop the adhesive from contacting the film, but not the roller so the benefits would be negligible as the adhesive residue would still go all over the roller. But, as you do the opposite, (top 'A' wind and bottom 'B' wind) both reels would have the adhesive coming into contact with the print so that can't be it. Is there a correct side and an incorrect side to the media? Obviously the "side" of the media is irrelevant. (The actual surface side of the media doesn't matter.) As far as the tape on the ends of the rolls, I never tape them down, so if the media DOES run out, it won't scratch and gunk up the print.  |  IP: Logged
