How do they pack DTS discs there so they tend to arrive undamaged? DD failing early is now thought to be due to excessively high-speed printing where the emulsion does not get time to harden before the run. Also track focus issues where the neg and print are not in proper contact. They are a flexible but strong plastic - polyproleline perhaps, someone else might know. But the main issue is that they usually come seperately, not in the box, and pretty well all cinemas use their own couriers to collect and return prints. Prints themselves come in cardboard boxes and the spools are on cores. I haven't seen a trunk or reels for many years. We haven't been able to promote digital sound for some time because we never know till screening day whther we will be playing dts (if discs are supplied), Dolby Digital (if the track plays) or SR.  |  IP: Logged Brian Guckian Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 594 From: Dublin, Ireland Registered: Apr 2003 posted 12-22-2008 04:45 PM                     Thanks Ron, that's great to know.
