I still run Film in a booth that has both Carbon Arc and xenon lamps in it. I am lucky and run previews on the carbon arc and run film on two xenon lamped machines. The projectors were installed in 1954 and we stuill run them today. In Austin here, operators had to have a license from the fire department to prove they knew how to handle the stuff. And that seemed to be enforced at least 10 years after nitrate was gone. Not all managers respected the operator if they were union regardless of his qualifications. Some just plain hated us. Worked for one of those guys for a while back in the 70's and now he's one of my oldest best friends.  |  IP: Logged
