I'm waiting for one of the smoke, dust and carcinogen freaks to figure out how to adapt carbon arc to a digital projector.

The early Eidophor video projectors did use a carbon arc. They used the Swiss Gretener Ventarc lamp at 260 amps. Some of the later ones used smaller lamps.

The Everett Theatre in Middletown, Delaware runs two E7 carbon arc projectors.
