These are physical splices in already made prints, not raw stock splices. If unexposed film is spliced together, it could result in a mid-frame splice once in a reel, but not out of frame. It could also cause some fogging by a too-long exposure under the safelight while the film is being handled. The splices shown at the start of this topic are sloppiness, but under production conditions are bound to happen occasionally.  |  IP: Logged
