DTS gear is pretty rugged (Other than the power supplies, not really DTS' fault as they come from outside vendors). Let's not forget that Dolby's gear has generally been very long-lasting as well so it's not just digital gear that is long lasting. True, I know about the name change - just got stuck with the name of "DTS" since I've around it since '93 with Jurassic Park and the old DTS-6,4channel units-a bit of a "purist" habit.
