Indeed, DTS (now Datasat) support has been and is excellent. DTS gear is pretty rugged (Other than the power supplies, not really DTS' fault as they come from outside vendors).

Let's not forget that Dolby's gear has generally been very long-lasting as well so it's not just digital gear that is long lasting.

It's all a matter of sound design, quality control and support, areas that DTS and a few others are very good at.

Thx Mike for the reply.

True, I know about the name change - just got stuck with the name of "DTS" since I've around it since '93 with Jurassic Park and the old DTS-6,4channel units-a bit of a "purist" habit.

I brought this question up not to continue a rumor, but to get the correct answer from the right source to stop the rumor.
