We booked Evil Dead II for Halloween weekend and day and went through Rialto, which apparently now owns the theatrical rights to the series.

hmmm, I wasn't able to see 'Mary Poppins' but was able to see '20,000 Leagues' (as Cinemark's Classic Series) - that was the 4K restoration?? the image I thought was fuzzy and not that sharp. It was great to see the film on the large screen, but all in all, I guess I was expecting better picture quality from the transfer to the DCP.

Disney is leaving money on the table, which is out of character for them. I show a few free movies a year, usually from DVD or Blu Ray but I did get a DCP of How to Train Your Dragon 3D. I would show Disney movies - and pay for them! - if I could, and the move to Swank hasn't helped, as they only seem to answer one question out of 5. I have specifically asked about Mary Poppins... and gotten nowhere.

oh I'm sure it was, but I'm referring to the 4K workflow restoration/transfer done by the Disney film restorers, not the final DCP product.

That really surprises me. Like I said, I had no problems booking it in 35mm this year (pre-Swank). Terms were reasonable, too. Is the licensing situation different for other formats? Swank is not my favorite company to deal with, but they have basically been good to me with respect to Disney bookings.
