Back when the 3D 35mm deals were announced by Technicolor and Panavision (and, MasterImage, although I think they just offered a lens) I contacted Panavision and Technicolor. I asked if they would consider allowing a 1-year or less "test run" at my theatre, in case they had any extra 3D lenses laying around, rather than being required to commit to a 3-year arrangement. One of them never would return my calls. The other refused my offer, saying it was 3-years or nothing. Apparently, they could not even fulfill their half of such agreements! [thumbsdown]

Justin: early termination was easy: just install digital. Tech 3D was meant as a bridge to digital 3D. I am certain that they would never have agreed to early termination without going digital concurrently. louis
