I know it played in Dolby A optical at the Chinese Twin in Hollywood. That's where I saw it (no surrounds when I saw it there, either. I didjn't see surrounds in that auditorium until the next time I visited, in 1982 for STAR TREK: THE WRATH OF KHAN. Chinese II had 6 surrounds in that theatre, Chinese III had 8 siurrounds that were narrower, indicating that they had been installed at different times).  |  IP: Logged Bill Gabel Film God Posts: 3873 From: Technicolor / Postworks NY, USA Registered: Jan 2002 posted 06-04-2003 03:41 PM                     The original install had the surrounds behind the curtains on the side walls. The surrounds were there when "Xanadu" played the twin. When I saw the picture, I sat in the last row near the aisle for the show. When they did a upgrading the twin, they put the surrounds in front of the drapes. Because when the twin opened, each theatre had a pair of DP70's. They opened with the movie "Hurricane". Two other theatres that had surrounds mounted behind drapes are the Cinerama Dome and the Picwood Theatres. Over at the Hollywood Pacific main Theatre, you could see the speakers, but the front of each of them was covered with the same kind of drapes as the main curtains. I've worked all four theatres, So the surrounds were there.
