Yet, Will, I agree with your standards of living, due to your upbringing in a goodly family situation that you had and have, which is the result of your dislike of MC.

Just not a picture to take the family to. Yet, what was sad is when I DO see families come to movies like this.

Makes you wonder what the kids are thinking of, especially what they think of their parents that takes them to these kind of movies (one of the "dark sides" of the exhibition business).

MIDNIGHT COWBOY is definitely a relic of 60's filmmaking, but it is an interesting one. I cannot approach the film in terms of modern-day sensibilities, yet when I first saw it during it's 25th anniversary engagement at the Bruin Theatre in Westwood, I found it a fascinating example of a period in the movie industry where new forms of storytelling were allowed to seep through the cracks.

The film had a gritty reality and style that has been imitated many times since, especially in some TV shows today. While it is true a major studio probably wouldn't greenlight the film today,fact is, it had huge problems getting the go 35 years ago.
